What Everyone Should Know:

UNDERSTANDING OVARIAN CANCER

Learn the symptoms. Understand how ovarian cancer is diagnosed and treated. Know your risk. Cancer is a disease in which some of the body’s cells begin to divide without stopping and spread into surrounding tissue. Ovarian cancers are a group of diseases that affect a person’s ovaries.

ADVOCATE!

TAKE ACTION AND MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!

As a Community Partner of the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, we are committed to reducing and preventing the devastating toll of ovarian cancer through advocacy, education and awareness. The Alliance leads the nation in advocating policies, legislation, research and programs that increase our understanding of the cause and prevention of ovarian cancer and will ultimately improve the survival rate. The Ovarian Cancer Action Center provides information and resources to support advocates taking action on important ovarian cancer issues.

"I was diagnosed with stage 2 ovarian and stage 3 uterine cancer in March 2021. My diagnosis came as a complete shock. My oncologist at St. Joe’s referred me to the Michigan Ovarian Cancer Alliance and I am so happy I reached out to them - such an amazing resource. I was sent a tote bag filled with so much love and comfort. I have literally almost worn my blanket out as I use it daily! It really brightened my day when I received my bag. I am thankful and grateful for MIOCA as they have been a great resource for me as I navigate through my cancer journey."
