MIOCA releases it's 2018 Annual Report

July 11, 2019

A letter from the MIOCA President and the Executive Director

Dear Friends,

We are proud to present MIOCA’s 2018 Annual Report , highlighting another year of continued success as we move the needle to improve the health and quality of life for women and girls with ovarian cancer. As you will see in these pages, again this year MIOCA provided critical support to ovarian cancer survivors and their families directly, while working closely with the scientific, medical, and legislative communities to improve treatment and early detection of ovarian cancer.

As we sit down to write this letter and reflect on the year, what seems most obvious are the numerous individuals around the state (and beyond) who make this work possible – especially our volunteers and donors! For seven years, MIOCA’s programs and services have grown exponentially. What started as a handful of survivors and caregivers who recognized the gap in support for ovarian cancer survivors has grown into a comprehensive nonprofit organization that manages multiple survivor support programs, educates thousands of healthcare providers, advocates for legislative change at both the state and national levels, and provides significant funding to researchers in our state advancing the treatment and quality of life for women with ovarian cancer. This would not have happened without YOU – community members across the state who have donated their time, energy, passion, and dollars to build a solid foundation for the organization.

On behalf of Michigan’s ovarian cancer survivors and those who have yet to be diagnosed, thank you for your continued support and for continuing with us on this journey!

With gratitude and hope,

Pam Dahlmann, RN, BSN    Amy R. Friedman Milanovich, MPH                                                                                                                                                                    President, Co-Founder            Executive Director
