MIOCA Announces Advocacy Scholarship for 2017 National Ovarian Cancer Advocacy Day

From MIOCA's parent organization, Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance:

As Washington, D.C. continues to sort itself out after the presidential election, we look towards 2017 and the 115th Congress with a lot of uncertainty. We don't know what changes may be made to the Affordable Care Act, Medicare, or other federal health programs. We don't know what will become of the long-standing Congressional commitments to biomedical research or efforts to streamline regulatory procedures. What we do know is that this coming year will likely bring about a lot of changes, and the ovarian cancer community must be ready to educate, advocate, and inform policy-makers about the impact that those changes can have on the lives of thousands of women in this country.

Our 2017 Advocacy Day Application is now open. We'll be turning the Hill teal again on February 28-March 1, 2017. Sign up today to help us ensure that the vital programs and funding for ovarian cancer only continue to grow!

MIOCA Advocacy Travel Scholarship Opportunity

To offset costs associated with attending National Advocacy Day, MIOCA offers an advocacy travel scholarship. If you are interested in joining MIOCA's advocacy team, please complete the application and submit by January 8, 2017. Recipients will be notified by January 15 so that they can register to attend National Advocacy Day in D.C. by the registration deadline of January 20.
