OCNA Annual Conference
July 12, 2013
For the 16th year, OCNA hosted the largest ovarian cancer-specific conference in the nation, bringing together nearly 400 researchers, clinicians, survivors and caregivers to learn about the latest developments in diagnosis, treatment and quality of life. The conference culminated with almost 200 women and men meeting with their legislators on advocacy day at Capitol Hill.
This year due to MIOCA’s tremendous organizational growth, six women from Michigan attended, marking a substantial increase from last year. Our advocacy day included meetings in the offices of Senators Stabenow and Levin, as well as Representatives Peters, Levin, Miller, and Dingell to talk about the importance of research funding and awareness.
