Next Gen Presents: Ovary Fun Night

Next Generation Ovarian Alliance (Next Gen) is hosting this fun-filled night to raise awareness for ovarian cancer. This is a University of Michigan bicentennial sponsored event falling under the major theme of "teaching powerfully." There will be baskets raffled off, food, and performances by the G-Men a cappella group and a story shared by a survivor.

Per the US Track & Field guidelines, it is not safe to hold the walk/run/bike portion of the event today given that the current heat index is >82. A great deal of planning has gone into an afternoon with activities beyond the 5K. We hope that you will still come out and support our efforts.
Enjoy a fun family afternoon, complete with pre-run activities, finish-line snacks, and prizes. Connect with other families, patients, and survivors in a community-spirited event! Tee It Up 4 Ovarian Cancer

The Nancy Carmella Pittel Memorial Tee It Up 4 Ovarian Cancer Charity Golf Classic was established to raise money to eradicate ovarian cancer. Nancy lost her battle with the disease on August 29, 2015, but this tournament will live on in her memory and continue to raise money for MIOCA’s research, advocacy, and education programs. Join with others for a great day of 18 holes of golf, food, awards, and fun. This event has something for everyone including a 5K fun run/walk, teal and turquoise classic car show, outdoor concert, large raffle, activities for the kids, and more! 2nd Annual "Teal Attack" Golf Outing

Teal Attack is a movement centered on high school and collegiate athletic events to raise awareness and funds for ovarian cancer support. Since 2015, Teal Attack events have raised over $80,000 for ovarian cancer research and support. Join us at the Dundee Golf Club on Saturday, September 16, for the 2nd Annual “Teal Attack” Golf Outing. All proceeds from the event will go to MIOCA to further their efforts in supporting ovarian cancer research and the women who are diagnosed with this deadly cancer.
Golfers can play either nine or 18 holes; those who are unable to golf can join the After Party for dinner, music and raffles. Download this registration form for more information and to register. The Silent No More Golf Scramble
is dedicated to the memory of Melody Erwin, who lost her battle with Ovarian Cancer in 2015. Join us for an 18 hole, 2 person scramble at the Squirrel Hollow Golf Course in Battle Creek, with all proceeds to benefit MIOCA. Registration must be sent in by September 1. Sign in, Cart Assignment & Continental Breakfast begin at 8 am. The Shotgun Start will begin at 9 am. There will be awards, prizes, handouts, Mel's Bloody Marys, shirts, snacks & lunch after golf. OCRFA to host Ovarian Cancer National Conference in Chicago

The Ovarian Cancer National Conference will be held this year in Chicago on July 7-9. This is a great opportunity for the ovarian cancer community in Michigan to attend without needing to travel very far. Attendees will have the chance to choose from dozens of sessions to create a personalized agenda tailored to meet their needs. The conference provides a forum to meet hundreds of others whose lives have been touched by ovarian cancer. Teal Track & Trail

This event is held in Memory of Wendy Heath Heiser. Start your weekend with a 5K Run/Walk to benefit MIOCA at Grand Blanc High School on Friday, June 9, 2017. This chip timed race starts at 6:30 pm. The course winds through the Grand Blanc High School Campus and ends with a lap around the football field. Participants receive a t-shirt, custom medallion, and a free ride ticket for the carnival at the Grand Blanc Fun Fest. Those registrants over 21 will also get free admission to the beer tent at the Fun Fest. For more info, visit the event website. Ann Arbor Goddess 5K and Mile Fun Run

Celebrate Mother's Day by joining your mothers, sisters, daughters, and others in the Suburban Chevrolet Arbor Goddess 5K. Race with your daughter or mother on our USATF-certified 5K course in the Mother-Daughter category or add a grandmother or granddaughter for our Three Generations of Women category of fabulous females. For those interested in a shorter distance, we have an untimed one-mile fun run option as well. This really is a family day so, of course, guys are welcomed too.
New for 2017: a kids’ 200-meter dash for children ages 8 and under. Bring your little ones along and cheer them on as they participate in their own race!

MIOCA's Survivor Seminar

Building on the popular Survivor Meet & Greets held in 2016, MIOCA is offering an opportunity to spend time with other survivors but also learn more about ovarian cancer and ways to cope. The seminar will include many sessions led by experts on topics that were highly rated in a recent survivor poll. Please see the Survivor Seminar flyer for details. Lunch will be provided. The seminar will be held at the Ann Arbor Regent Hotel & Suites Conference Center (2455 Carpenter Rd) from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm. Registration is available online. Big House 5K Trail to the Victors – presented by Toyota

Don't miss this incredible opportunity to be part of this 5K which will start at Schembechler Hall at 8:30am and course through the UM campus with an exciting finish at the 50-yard line of Michigan Stadium. $12 from each registration will go to support six local, non-profit race beneficiaries including MIOCA. SPEAK presentation at Women's Health and Fitness Day

Women’s Health and Fitness Day is organized by the American Medical Women's Association from the University of Michigan Medical School. This day is focused on educating the community – women and men of all ages – about various aspects of women’s health. Each attendee will have the opportunity to attend workshops led by experts from the University of Michigan and other health professionals from the local community including the Michigan Ovarian Cancer Alliance. WHFD is free
